    The 2007 Kauffman Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Data was held
    at the Kauffman Foundation on November 1st and 2nd. This symposium provided
    a venue to discuss 35 new or newly-updated data sets of interest to
    researchers studying entrepreneurship and innovation. The proceedings of the
    Symposium, including data overviews and PowerPoint presentations are now
    available at http://www.ssrn.com/link/2007-Kauffman.html.
    Additionally, the following call for proposals was released at the Symposium.

    CALL FOR PROPOSALS

    Small Grants Research Projects for Data Sets Presented at the 2007 Kauffman
    Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Data

    Research funding will be awarded in amounts up to $10,000 for individual
    scholars and up to $20,000 for groups of scholars in three entrepreneurship
    and innovation funding categories:

    Dissertations: for doctoral students wishing to use one of the data sets
    presented at the Symposium to write dissertations.

    Database Improvements: for scholars willing to improve the understanding of
    the data sets by merging across data sets.

    Policy Analysis: for scholars interested in advancing understanding of a
    particular aspect of entrepreneurship or innovation policy.

    Proposals are due on January 15, 2008 by 5pm CST. Details are available at
