Overview:
Several studies show that women faculty face slightly different career challenges than their male counterparts, including salary disparity, differential expectations in service, teaching evaluations and work-life balance. Last year at the 2016 AOM meetings a PDW on this topic attracted 60+ women faculty and PhD students, where these issues were discussed. A linked-in website and follow up readings were shared after the Conference.
This PDW will include round- table mentoring of senior/junior faculty & PhD students, discussion and tips for how to manage career challenges and issues. As part of the session, we will consider next steps for ways to mentor and support our women entrepreneurship faculty.
