    The University of Delaware seeks applications for the position of chair of the Department of Business Administration. The chair will be appointed for a five-year term, beginning Fall 2018.  We seek an innovative and dynamic leader with a vision to advance the department's research and teaching and enhance its national and international reputation and visibility. This is a tenured appointment at the rank of full professor.

     

    The Department of Business Administration consists of 43 permanent faculty members, 35 of whom are tenured or on the tenure track.  Academic programs are interdisciplinary and include BS degrees in Marketing (551 students), Management (172), International Business Studies (137), Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation (63), and Operations Management (54) as well as MS degrees in International Business (23) and Entrepreneurship and Design (8).  The Department also supports the MBA program, which enrolls 450 students on campus and online. The Department has a commitment to world-class scholarship, student learning and success, and engagement with the business community.     Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree; a vision for leading the department and promoting its continued growth and success; a distinguished record of scholarship; a commitment to excellence in instruction; and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with faculty, professional staff, and the administration. The chair will be committed to advancing diversity and inclusion, and be able to advocate effectively for the needs and interests of the department, foster a climate of collaboration and collegiality within the department and across programs, and support the scholarship and professional development of the department's faculty. The chair should also demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinarity and to building and furthering ties with other units across the College and the University.
