The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee Knoxville invites applications and nominations for the Nestlé Endowed Professor of Business Administration, which is a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Management. Job responsibilities include teaching classes at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level, publishing research in top management journals, and participating actively in department, college and university committees, activities, and service. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee and the Haslam College of Business is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. Review of applications will begin on July 24, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled. Effective date of employment will be August 1, 2018, or when filled. Compensation will be competitive.
Qualifications
Required:
· Ph.D. or other terminal degree from an accredited institution in management, innovation, entrepreneurship, strategic management, or germane academic specialty.
· An active research and publication record in top-tier journals in the areas of management, innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or strategic management that will warrant appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.
· A history of high-quality teaching in management, innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or strategic management, preferably at an AACSB-accredited institution.
· A record of mentoring and publishing with doctoral students and/or junior faculty.
Desired:
· A desire to work with department faculty to further the goal of national and international leadership in entrepreneurship and innovation research.
· A willingness to contribute to the department goal of innovative, experiential learning in the classroom, possibly including online content development.
· An ability to contribute to the diversity of the department and college.
· An interest to connect across faculty to facilitate research and contribute to the department in a collegial and professional manner.
College and Department Background
The Haslam College of Business serves approximately 5,100 undergraduate and graduate students. Its 128 faculty members are responsible for teaching in a variety of AACSB-accredited undergraduate and graduate programs. Alumni gifts have allowed the College to establish over 40 faculty chairs and professorships. Classes are taught primarily in the state-of-the-art James A. Haslam II Business Building, which opened in 2009.
The Department of Management is a major academic unit within the Haslam College of Business, offering two undergraduate degrees, a master's degree in management and human resources, and a Ph.D. degree in strategy, entrepreneurship, and organizations. Departmental faculty also teach in the College's MBA and Executive Education programs and participate in initiatives sponsored by the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Departmental faculty members include Russell Crook, Roberto Ragozzino, Alex Miller, Terry Leap, Lane Morris, Anne Smith, Tim Munyon, David Williams, David Gras, and Codou Samba. Our faculty have published in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, and other peer-reviewed outlets.
