We will have information about the remote access to business microdata available through the NORC Data Enclave (http://dataenclave.norc.org), including the datasets that are available in the enclave. We will also have information about two research funding opportunities.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has made funding available to scholars and researchers studying entrepreneurship, innovation, and related topics. Funding recipients will be able to access its Kauffman Firm Survey (KFS), a unique source of firm-level data available through the NORC Data Enclave. Award amounts are up to $10,000 for individual researchers and up to $20,000 for research teams. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2008. The National Institute for Standards and Technology's Technology Innovation Program has announced the availability of research funding in amounts up to $25,000 to study technology, innovation and entrepreneurship using NIST's Advanced Technology Program data at the NORC Data Enclave. Award categories include dissertations, database improvements, and methodological enhancements. The deadline for applying has been extended to January 31, 2007 for ASSA attendees; a second call is likely to be made in the spring.
