    The USASBE Doctoral Consortium announces its inaugural program to be held during the USASBE 2008 Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Objective of the program is to offer future leaders and scholars in entrepreneurship the opportunity for career enhancement and networking with today's entrepreneurship education senior scholars and leaders.     If you are a doctoral student and wish to be considered for one of the limited scholarship slots, visit www.usasbe.org/scholarships/ to submit your application. If you have already submitted an application you will be contacted relative to criteria requirements and additional required documentation.

    Don't miss this opportunity for career enhancement and networking with today's entrepreneurship education senior scholars and leaders and tomorrow's promising researchers, scholars and educators in the entrepreneurship.

    Background

     

    The design of this Doctoral Colloquy includes innovative elements for both research and teaching entrepreneurship. The Colloquy focuses on the practical as well as conceptual content. The close interaction with experienced professors is designed to create potential long-term friendships and mentoring relationships. We believe that this doctoral colloquy is unique and adds value beyond that found in other doctoral consortia in entrepreneurship.

    Selection criteria (limited to 15 participants)

     

    1.            Selection Criteria

     

    a.   Doctoral student in good standing (minimum qualification completed two years of studies by June 2011) and attending an accredited college or university.

    b.   One letter of recommendation from doctoral program director and/or professor.

    c.   Upon acceptance, students must register for the conference

     

    d.   Submission of <st1:stockticker w:st="on">ONE</st1:stockticker> well-conceived, developed research question that the doctoral student has explored. This submission should include the following:

     

    i.     Cogent statement of the general research question plus any

    particular subsets of this general question.

                      ii.   Genesis of this research question supported by academic

                            citations with quotes if available.

                      iii.  Suggested research design including proposed measurement

                            and analysis methodologies.

    iv.   Potential contribution(s) to the extant corpus of entrepreneurship

    research

    v.    Agreement to read and come ready to discuss all written

          material assigned and available on the USASBE site.

     

    2.          Administrative Matters (for reimbursement)

     

    You must:

    a.   Register for the conference and pay the USASBE membership fee

    b.   Book the hotel accommodations only at the conference hotel

    c.   Complete the consortium evaluation prior to reimbursement.

    d.   Attend both the doctoral consortium and the full conference

    e.   Materials and meals for the colloquy will be provided.

     

    3.       Reimbursements

     

    a. Cost of three nights at conference hotel

    b. Cost of conference registration
