Workshop on Institutional Perspectives in International Business and Entrepreneurship
30 November - 1 December, Brisbane, Australia
Invited Keynote: Dr Jesper Edman, Hitotsubashi University, Japan
This workshop aims to bring together researchers working with institutional perspectives in the areas of international business and/or entrepreneurship. Our understanding of 'institutional perspectives' is broad and includes (but is not limited to) new institutional theory, structuration perspectives, 'institutional work', comparative institutional analysis, institutional economics, and so on.
The workshop goals are to:
- Explore the potential of institutional approaches for generating novel insights in conceptual and empirical studies of international business and/or entrepreneurship
- Foster an inter-disciplinary exchange of ideas and methods, with a view to building networks continuing conversations among workshop participants
- Explore opportunities for practitioner and policy-oriented research in IB and entrepreneurship using institutional perspectives
Submissions: Papers (preferred) or extended abstracts should be sent via email to institutional-perspectives@griffith.edu.au by September 3, 2017. Location and Format: The workshop will be hosted by Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith Business School, at the Southbank Campus in Brisbane, Australia, on the Brisbane River and a short walk to the Brisbane CBD. The workshop will extend over 2 full days, with an industry event held (most likely) on the afternoon or evening of the second day.
Support: There will be no registration or other fees. Lunches, refreshments and a workshop dinner on 30 November will be provided for registered authors./ participants. Presenters will need to make their own accommodation and travel arrangements.
