Dear Colleagues,
I am aware you probably get one or more obscure conference call per week these days – but this is not one of them. This is about a conference you may want to consider. I'm talking about the ACERE – the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research Exchange –in Brisbane, February 6-9, 2018. Here are some reasons to join us:
- A very strong group of invited international "stars" in key roles. For the 2018 conference we can already boast Dean Shepherd, Johan Wiklund and Ted Baker (and it won't stop there).
- A highly developmental format throughout, and in particular for those who opt for a "Paper Development Session". In these you get comprehensive feedback from peers who have read your paper as well as from your chair, who is a highly experienced and recognized international researcher (including the above people and myself). The conference also features a doctoral consortium.
- The conference is completely devoted to entrepreneurship scholarship and its size is manageable; some 100-150 participants, making for a very enjoyable experience.
- ACERE is a highly international conference, with 1/3 of participants coming from Europe and North America and with representation from a range of other countries in both hemispheres.
- Check the testimonials from participants on the ACERE website (scroll down right side)
- If you're from the Northern hemisphere, February is a very good time to go...somewhere else, like Australia.

ACERE 2018 – BRISBANE - AUSTRALIA
The 2018 Conference will return to home ground at the Gardens Point Campus of QUT for the main conference program. We are proud to announce that The University of Queensland at St. Lucia will host the 2018 ACERE Doctoral Consortium.
The Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research Exchange (ACERE) Conference is the premier Australian-based annual conference dedicated to the growth, support and promotion of entrepreneurship research and practice. It is designed to be a highly developmental and professionally rewarding experience for all delegates. Featuring high-calibre researchers from throughout the world, it's a stand-out fixture on the academic and professional development calendar.
ACERE is organized by the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research (ACE) at QUT, Brisbane. The conference usually rotates to different locations, involving a local co-host.
As always the ACERE Conference is an annual meeting of entrepreneurship researchers from Australia and around the world – a community of researchers who believe that sharing their current research and their expertise helps build entrepreneurship as a field of research and a force to build a better world.
But also it is a social gathering, of old and new friends, an extended family who have an annual reunion. Come back again this year, or join us for the first time this year – we welcome you with open hearts and minds.
