    Reviewing in the Rough
    :
    A PDW for Junior Faculty Members 
    and Doctoral Students

    Friday, August 4th, 2:00PM - 4:00PM at the Hyatt - Edgewood Room

    Are you interested in the craft of reviewing, because...

    You've never been formally trained and aren't sure where to begin?
    You're looking for ways to improve existing reviewing skills?
    You've been helped by high quality reviews in the past and wish to pay it forward?
    You'd like insight from people at all levels of the review process, 
    such as associate editors, editorial board members, and scholars with reviewing (and publishing) success?


    Reviewing in the Rough is a two hour workshop sponsored by the MOC Division, taking place at this year's Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Atlanta on Friday, August 4, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. This workshop will provide participants an opportunity to gain key insights about the review process and quality reviewing from Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members at leading journals in our field. Before the conference, participants will complete their own reviews of an Organization Science original submission, then discuss and receive feedback on these from experienced scholars in roundtable sessions. Participants will learn exclusive background information about the original submission from the author himself, along with the actual reviews he received and how they helped shape the final manuscript. This is the 7th year of RIR and we are thrilled to have many outstanding scholars participating, including Neal Ashkanasy, Rebecca Bennett, John Bingham, Erik Dane, Paul Godfrey, Cristiano Guarana, Ronald Humphrey, Andrew Knight, Glen Kreiner, Suzanne Masterson, Christopher Myers, Frits Pil, Michael Pratt, Sandra Robinson, and John Paul Stephens.

    HOW TO APPLY

    1) 
    Email
     mocreview@gmail.com to request Andrew Knight's manuscript, 
    "Mood at the midpoint: Affect and change in exploratory search over time in teams that face a deadline".

    Complete a formal review of this manuscript (
    1-2 
    single-spaced pages).

    3) 
    E-mail your completed review to mocreview@gmail.com by July 15.

    4) 
    We will email you the registration code for the PDW.

    5) 
    Register for the PDW at the 2017 AOM PDW registration website.
