Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the All Academy professional development workshop titled "Interfaces of Individuals, Organizations & Institutions for Creation of Markets and Industries." This PDW focuses on factors related to the origin or creation of new markets and industries, and addresses the All Academy theme "At the Interface" in two ways. First, it focuses on emergence of markets and industries as essential interfaces through which buyers and sellers engage in exchange of products and services. Second, it examines the interface between individuals, organizations, and institutions that are necessary for creation of markets and industries.
We will begin the PDW with initial presentations by panelists on four interrelated themes: (1) institutions and the role of public organizations, (2) markets for technology and the role of ecosystem, (3) industry evolution and the role of new and established firms, and (4) entrepreneurship and the role of individuals. This will be followed by an interactive panel discussion about research opportunities, and then breakout roundtable conversations with PDW participants.
