Come to the beach! Expand your mind! Work with great faculty and students!

The University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) Technology Management Program invites applications for an associate (tenured) or assistant professor position. The appointment will be effective July 1, 2018, and the candidate is expected to be in residence beginning fall quarter, 2018. The successful candidate will complement a growing faculty engaged in cutting-edge research and teaching at the intersection of social and technological systems.

The Technology Management Program, which offers Masters' and Ph.D. degrees and undergraduate and graduate certificates, resides within UC Santa Barbara's College of Engineering. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. from a relevant field at time of appointment. We welcome applications from scholars who have expertise in any of the following areas: science and technology studies; knowledge and learning; innovation and entrepreneurship; strategy; organizations, teams, and work. Interdisciplinary approaches to studying phenomena at any level of analysis (individuals, groups, organizations, or markets) are especially welcome. A record of securing external funding for research is desirable.

Our core TMP faculty includes Stephen Barley, Ted Frech, Gary Hansen, Paul Leonardi, Kyle Lewis, Renee Rottner, Dave Seibold, and Bob York, whose research and teaching span management, engineering, and social sciences and reflect the unit's intentional interdisciplinary character.

All applications will be held in strict confidence by the Search Committee. To apply, please submit CV, cover letter, statement of research, statement of teaching, as well as three reference letters and an optional statement of contributions to diversity via UC Recruit https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/apply/JPF01013. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled.

The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Questions should be directed to the Search Committee Co-Chairs, Dr. Kyle Lewis (klewis@ucsb.edu) or Dr. Paul Leonardi (leonardi@tmp.ucsb.edu).
