Hello,
I'm a PhD student at the University of Minnesota working on compiling
a database of social entrepreneurs and would really appreciate any
help that you may be able to give.
Currently there are multiple definitions of social entrepreneurs used
by researchers and practitioners and I'm hoping that some effort at a
synthesis of the current state of knowledge of social entrepreneurship
will be a first step to future replicable empirical work. I have
included descriptions and simplified case sketches of social
entrepreneurs given in books and articles, as well major websites
supporting social entrepreneurship (Ashoka, Schwab Foundation, and BiD
Network).
However, I would like to include information on specific social
entrepreneurs that other researchers have studied, but which has not
been reported in these other locations. While I will need all
relevant details, I am interested in contacting the social
entrepreneurs, so contact information of the social entrepreneurs
would be most appreciated. Also, while I would include many founders
of non-profits as social entrepreneurs, I am most interested in those
entrepreneurs that are seeking to solve a social problem through a
non-profit model. I am willing to share the results of this search as
well.
Thanks for your time,
--
