| DEPARTMENT/POSITION OVERVIEW |
| The Lecturer will assist the Academic Director, Head of Discipline and Senior Academic Manager in all academic and student academic matters. Academics at AIB are involved in development of subject learning resources, design and review of assessments, contribution to on-line academic content, providing assistance and support to students in all academic matters relating to the Academic's areas of expertise, marking and moderation, and updating of materials. In addition, Academics are required to remain up-to-date in their discipline area and in AIB standards and protocols by engaging in research and/or scholarship and participating in professional development. |

| Direct Report The Lecturer (Level A/B) reports to: · Senior Academic Manager for Operational Matters. · Head of Discipline and Academic Director for Academic Matters. Other Reporting/Working Relationships The Lecturer (Level A/B) works within the Academic team and also interacts collaboratively with: - Student Relations team
- Student Assessment team
- Academic Administration team
- Online Learning team
- Research team
- Other AIB staff
And also with: - Online Facilitators (external)

| KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
| This position reports directly to the Senior Academic Manager or their delegate, for the following key accountabilities and the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (which are outlined below). - Preparing/updating/reviewing learning materials, assessments and solutions to ensure a quality student learning experience
- Providing academic guidance to and preparing subject delivery packs for online facilitators
- Interacting pro-actively with students through webinars and the learning management system (e.g. forum)
- Providing academic support to students
- Marking and moderating assessments
- Assessing exemption / credit transfer requests
- Sharing and presenting knowledge and expertise internally and/or externally at conferences as required
- Documenting face to face and telephone student interactions and update student system accordingly
- Participating in the development of student service improvement initiatives
- Supervising postgraduate research projects
- Actively participating in AIB's Scholarship Program

| In your position as Lecturer – Level A/B it is an expectation that: - You will be required to participate in AIB's performance review process.
- You will achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Accountabilities.
- Out of hours' work may be required and flexible working hours will apply.
- Interstate/international travel may be required.
- You will attend and actively participate in all mandatory staff training sessions.
- You will not incur any expenditure on behalf of AIB without prior written approval for such expenditure from AIB Management.

| EXPERIENCE: | - Experience in teaching subjects in one or more major business disciplines (including developing/updating materials, designing assessments, moderation)
- Experience in teaching adult learners and post-graduate students
- Experience of teaching in Australian higher education

| KNOWLEDGE: | - Up-to-date discipline knowledge in one or more major business discipline areas (particularly Marketing, HRM, Management, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Logistics, Tourism)
- Higher Education pedagogical principles (including relating to distance learning and adult learning)
