    Colleagues:

Congratulations to Greg Fisher and JBV for leading the charge on improving the overall journal impact factor in our field.  Small business and entrepreneurship research continues its forward path advancing our understanding of global economic development.

More super news to share. You will be excited to learn that The Journal of Small Business Management (JSBM) impact factor rose to 2.876 (five year factor 4.342).  Our growth is direct function of our outstanding Associate Editors, International Research Board (IRB) and dedicated reviewers. Please join me in congratulating the many committed volunteers who contributed to this excellent success factor.

We will continue to provide quality and timely articles examining and exploring the role of SME's and  entrepreneurship  ventures  globally.

While all our strength has been and will continue to be high quality empirical research, we are pleased to announce that we are now accepting theoretical and conceptual articles dealing with a broad range of important issues. For example, recent submissions dealing with theoretic constructs such as measurement and definition simultaneously provide our readers a respected outlet and greater access to timely research to advance our field.

Also, JSBM continues to support entrepreneurship education by establishing a number of global best paper and reviewer awards. For example, beginning in 2016, JSBM will sponsor a Best Reviewer Award ($1,000) for the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management.

Thank you to all for your past, present, and continued support as we all work together to advance the art and science of small business and entrepreneurship research and education worldwide.

George - and thank you! It is great to see ENT journals improving. I've noticed that our journals have been improving on the journal-level h-index too. Not only is the math less weird for that... our journals are actually closing the gap on the Big Boys! :)

Way to go, everyone - Greg & George, et al. AND the authors. The tide IS rising!

Proud to be an entrepreneurship scholar!

For the record, if the business world relied on the h-statistic as the key metric of performance, K-Mart would still be the leader in the retailing industry.  Feel free to share that anecdote with one of their former managers now working at Wal-Mart. ;-)

    Best,
    Jeff
