Please join us at AOM Atlanta for the 2nd Annual PDW aimed at building a research community joined together by a common interest in exploring 'how' entrepreneurs create new ventures.  This session will bring together independent but complementary research perspectives to build a shared dialogue.  We suggest that many scholars working from the perspectives of entrepreneurial behavior, entrepreneurship as practice, entrepreneurship as process, and others share a fundamental interest in 'how' entrepreneurs go about creating new organizations.  Each perspective places a different aspect of 'how' entrepreneurship occurs at the center of inquiry, yet all contributed to a stronger shared understanding of the bigger question.

This session will begin with brief presentations, or "pitches", centered around one of the perspectives that contributes to building insights into this 'how' question.  Immediately following, you will be invited to join in round table discussions themed around this plurality of perspectives as we seek to find common ground, build a common conversation, and develop partnerships in work that develops this this line of scholarship.  Following the round table discussions and debrief, William B. Gartner will share thoughts on future directions for this budding community of scholars.

As practice-based studies gain traction in different fields of study, it also opens up opportunities for new collaboration and exchange.  This year's "Meet & Greet" event will bring together leading scholars from Strategizing Activities and Practice (SAP) and Entrepreneurship-as-Practice (EAP). Come chat with and learn from some leading scholars in SAP and EAP!

Scholars in attendance include Paul Spee and Richard Whittington (SAP) and Bill Gartner and Bruce Teague (EAP).

Because we have limited space, you will need to sign-up – Please email Neil Thompson (n.a.Thompson@vu.nl) and indicate which division you are a part of to reserve your spot!
