    Apologies for any cross-postings!

The Department of Management and Information Technology in the College of Business at Missouri State University (MSU) seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship to begin August 2018. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in high-quality teaching and research in the area of entrepreneurship as well as provide leadership support and guidance for the entrepreneurship program as a whole. The successful candidate may also be required to teach in a secondary area such as strategic management or international management. Teaching load and salary are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

MSU is located in Springfield, Missouri, the state's third-largest city and the gateway to the colorful Ozarks. Springfield offers a high quality of life, featuring a very attractive cost of living, temperate climate, and abundant recreational opportunities. MSU's College of Business is the largest in the state, with more than 5000 majors, including more than 900 enrolled in management-related programs of study.

The College of Business is well-positioned to engage with in economic development and with the nationally recognized startup community in Springfield. With the completion of the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center in 2013, MSU opened The eFactory, Springfield's first incubator combined with business development programming (http://efactory.missouristate.edu). In 2015, Springfield was ranked third as one of the "Best Cities to Start a Business" by online personal finance resource, WalletHub. The metrics for that honor were workforce education, financing accessibility and entrepreneurial activity. In September of 2016, Forbes magazine recognized Springfield, Missouri as a top U.S. metro area for start-ups (https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianrashid/2017/05/15/7-cities-you-didnt-expect-to-be-great-for-business/#3f32ad34590d) for going against the national trend of declining new business starts. The College of Business is located in Glass Hall, which is under renovation and will include a dedicated entrepreneurship lab when it opens in Fall 2017. The faculty in the Management and Information Technology Department and the departmental advisory board are dedicated to the success of the entrepreneurship program and look forward to improving and growing the program.

A doctoral degree in Business Administration or Management from an AACSB accredited institution with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, strategic management or a closely related field is required. Evidence of the potential for high quality teaching and research in entrepreneurship is also required. Employment will require a criminal background check at the University's expense.
