    Apologies for cross-postings:

    Colleagues,

The Teaching Theme Committee, with co-sponsorship by MED, presents the following PDW that brings together a diverse panel to discuss distinct approaches to teaching multiple audiences across management disciplines:

    Teaching Across the Curriculum:
    A Cross-disciplinary and Cross-level Perspective

Sponsored by the TTC Committee and MED Division of the Academy of Management

    Saturday Aug 4, 2007

    10:00AM - 12:00PM

         Philadelphia Marriott, Room Franklin 6

Organizers: Jill Kickul; Miami U; Lisa K Gundry; DePaul U

    Panelists:

    B. Kay Snavely; Miami U. Ohio

Thomas J Dean; U. of Colorado, Boulder

Saulo Barbosa; CERAG-EDSG U. of Grenoble II (France)

Christina A Hannah; U. of Maryland U. College

Mike Crant; U. of Notre Dame

This PDW will focus on understanding how we teach to different audiences such as undergraduates, MBAs, and executives within management programs as well as across the university (e.g., management programs tailored specifically for the arts and sciences, engineering, etc.). It will address both the broad-based similarities as well as the differences in the variety of pedagogies, format, style, and pace of course content that many management professors adopt in the delivery and presentation of their courses. Whether you are preparing new courses, teaching new groups of students, or wanting to learn fresh approaches and share ideas about teaching, this workshop is not to be missed. The workshop will include short presentations with ample time for questions and discussion among the panelists and participants.
