Assistant/Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship
The Department of Management in the <st1:place><st1:placetype>School</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename>Business</st1:placename></st1:place> at <st1:place><st1:placename>Virginia</st1:placename> <st1:placename>Commonwealth</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>University</st1:placetype></st1:place> invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position in Entrepreneurship, effective <st1:date month="8" day="16" year="2008">August 16, 2008</st1:date>, subject to funding availability. The Department offers baccalaureate majors in Business Administration and Management (includes an Entrepreneurship track) and in Human Resource Management; a Master of Science program in Decision Sciences; a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Human Resource Management, and a Ph.D. in Business/major in Management. In addition, the Department provides instruction in Decision Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Communication, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, and other subjects for the Bachelor of Science in Business, the Master of Business Administration, and the Ph.D. in Business. The Department has 30 full-time faculty. All programs in the School are AACSB accredited. <st1:place><st1:placename>Virginia</st1:placename> <st1:placename>Commonwealth</st1:placename> <st1:placetype>University</st1:placetype></st1:place> enrolls 30,000 students; 3,500 are enrolled in the <st1:place><st1:placetype>School</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename>Business</st1:placename></st1:place>. A new state-of-the-art <st1:place><st1:placetype>School</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename>Business</st1:placename></st1:place> building will open in January 2008.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) from an AACSB-accredited program in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, or Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. Candidates must be capable of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship. Demonstrated excellence in entrepreneurship scholarly research, or evidence of the ability to publish in peer-reviewed entrepreneurship journals, is required. Experience and interest in the development of entrepreneurship programs are desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with good communication skills, demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, and a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the <st1:country-region><st1:place>United States</st1:place></st1:country-region> and indicate their citizenship or visa status.
