Visiting Research Fellow
Kogod School of Business, Management Department
The Department of Management at the Kogod School of Business, American University, Washington, D.C. invites applications and nominations for a full-time Visiting Research Fellow to be attached to the American University Center for Innovation (AUCI) beginning Fall Semester 2017. This is a term position, with a one year renewable contract.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Earned a Ph.D.
· Produced high quality research
Key position activities include:
- Conducting high-quality research, with a focus on entrepreneurship
- Publishing high quality academic articles
- Teaching 2 courses per year (1-1) which could be undergraduate or graduate coursework
- Providing substantial leadership and coordination in furthering the goals of the AU Kogod School Candidates, e.g., in curriculum development, external and internal engagement, and grant applications, in ongoing programs such as Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, and Business in the Capital.
- Participating in department, school, and college activities.

This Visiting Research Fellow position provides emerging scholars with an excellent opportunity to develop and extend their research programs following their PhDs. Applicants should be interested in furthering their academic careers, particularly in terms of pursuing peer-reviewed academic publications. We welcome any methodology (e.g., experiments, fsQCA, regressions, modelling, qualitative) and a focus on real world problems faced by practitioners and policymakers. Researchers affiliated to AUCI are particularly interested in principled entrepreneurship, value creation, and human flourishing. Topical domains in entrepreneurship and innovation include strategy, corporate governance, policy, and education.
Visiting Research Fellows can take advantage of many resources at American University including research collaborations, mentorship, school-wide and university-wide speaker series, and excellent colleagues. Additional resources include several closely -related centers, the Cybersecurity and Governance Center, Metropolitan Policy Center, Tax Policy Center, and Center for Business in the Capital. These centers' scholarly and curricular activities provide possibilities for corporate contacts, collaboration, intellectual stimulation, and possible data collection. The Kogod School of Business is a highly collaborative and inclusive intellectual community, and Visiting Research Fellows would be extremely valued for the energy and ideas they bring and will be fully integrated into this community.
