    CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Proposal Submission Deadline: October 30, 2008
E-Entrepreneurship and ICT Ventures: Strategy, Organization and Technology
A book edited by Prof. Dr. Tobias Kollmann, Dr. Andreas Kuckertz, and Christoph Stöckmann
    University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany

    Introduction
The formation of new ventures plays a decisive role for the social and economic development of the world and is often based on technological innovations. In recent times, electronic information technologies (e.g., internet applications, interactive television or mobile services), especially, have led to a considerable amount of newly founded companies. Business models that make use of such electronic information technologies, allowing the execution of interactive, inter-business processes are usually labeled as e-business. Against this background, e-entrepreneurship refers to the formation of new ventures with innovative business ideas within the e-business environment, which, using an electronic platform in data networks, offer their products and/or services based upon a predominantly electronic creation of value. Essential is the fact that this value proposition becomes possible only through the intelligent utilization of information technology. Given the rapid developments within this field, there exists a need for a state-of-the-art edited collection of articles in this field.

    Objective of the Book
E-Entrepreneurship and ICT Ventures will be a standard reference in the rising field of e-entrepreneurship. The book will provide a unique and much needed overview of the current state of conceptual and empirical research at the interface of e-business and entrepreneurship research. Unlike other publications, E-Entrepreneurship will focus exclusively on this interface and, as a result, will merge two largely separate streams in the academic literature and close an important gap in current research. Thus, E-Entrepreneurship and ICT Ventures will contribute to an enhanced understanding of the important interface of e-business and entrepreneurship.

    Target Audience
This book will be a timely reference and essential reading material for students, academics, practitioners (managers and entrepreneurs), and political decision makers interested in applying and fostering e-business concepts in an entrepreneurial environment.

Recommend topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
    * Trends in enabling technologies that entrepreneurs can take advantage of to develop new business models
    * Evaluation of concepts from strategic management and organizational science and their application in the context of e-entrepreneurship
    * Strategic and organizational practices such as human resources, finance, marketing, and operations and their influence on the success of ICT-ventures
    * The potential of social (Web 2.0) and semantic (Web 3.0) technologies for the development of new business models
    * Environmental influences on e-entrepreneurship and challenges for policy makers following from these influences

    Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before October 30, 2008, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by November 15, 2008 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by February 15, 2009. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the "Information Science Reference" (formerly Idea Group Reference) and "Medical Information Science Reference" imprints.
