JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: TWO ASSISTANT PROFESSORS (TENURE TRACK) IN BUSINESS-SOCIETY MANAGEMENT

Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University

Erasmus University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in the broad domain of business and society management at the Assistant Professor level. We are looking for candidates with the potential to build a record of excellence in both research and teaching, and whose work is strongly rooted in organization and management theory but geared towards addressing important business and society topics. Candidates should have a doctorate degree or be in their final year of dissertation research.

The Business-Society Management department was established as one of the first business and society departments in a leading European Business School and ranks among the best in Europe in terms of research productivity and societal impact. Faculty members have recently published in top tier journals, such as the Academy of Management Review, the Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Studies as well as the Journal of Business Ethics. Our faculty is actively involved in the academic leadership of scholarly associations (such as IABS, AOM and SAMS) and serves on editorial teams and boards of leading journals in the field. The department offers its own master program on Sustainability and Global Business, and contributes to all undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, MPhil and PhD programs at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University.

Current full-time faculty of the Business-Society department includes Joep Cornelissen, Muel Kaptein, Lucas Meijs, Marius Van Dijke, Rob Van Tulder, Ben Wempe, Guido Berens, Steve Kennedy, Samer Abdelnour, Salla Laasonen, Mirjam Werner, Niek Hoogervorst, Pamala Wiepking, Lisanne Versteeg, Krijn Turkenburg, Eva Rood, Dianne Bevelander, Helen Gubby, Cees Van Dam, Stephanie Maas and Willem Ferwerda. The department further greatly benefits from a visiting faculty scheme.

The research of the department is multi-disciplinary in nature, using a diverse set of theories and methods to study current topics concerning ethical, social and sustainable forms of management and organization. Some of the department's research and outreach activities are channeled through dedicated research centers on partnerships, integrity management, behavioral ethics, corporate communication, and non-profit organizations. There is however no expectation that applicants align their research and teaching with any of these centers; we are simply interested in recruiting the best candidates with a strong grounding in organizational and/or management theory (OMT) through their PhD and whose research is in the business and society domain, broadly defined.

For more information about our activities and our colleagues please visit: https://www.rsm.nl/research/departments/business-society-management/

Preliminary interviews will be held at EGOS and the AOM. If you would like to have more information, do not hesitate to contact the Chair of the Search Committee, Joep Cornelissen (cornelissen@rsm.nl) or any of our colleagues directly.

Interested candidates are welcome to formally apply by sending a complete application package – including cover letter, vita, job market paper, research statement, teaching statement, teaching evaluations if available, and three letters of recommendation – to the departmental secretary (Mrs Janneke Suijker at jsuijker@rsm.nl).
