Entrepreneurship and Strategy Position

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The School of Business Administration at The University of Montana – Missoula invites applications for an Associate Professor or senior Assistant Professor in Management.  For this tenure-track position, we also will consider candidates who will have earned a Ph.D. in Management from an AACSB-accredited program by August 2010.

Candidates must possess the doctoral degree and be committed to excellence in teaching and scholarly research.  Candidates must possess interest and demonstrated ability in teaching and conducting research in the Entrepreneurship and/or Strategic Management areas.  Excellence in teaching and an active research agenda are required proportionate to the applicant's years of service and rank.  Prior business experience is a plus.

Undergraduate teaching will be in the university's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program.  Graduate teaching will be in the full-time and part-time MBA programs.

Support for faculty members' intellectual activities is broad and may be in the form of competitive summer funding, teaching release time (to a limited degree), travel stipends for presentations at academic conferences, etc.  Competitive research fellowships for tenured and tenure-track faculty members are available.

The School of Business Administration is the largest professional school on campus and has accreditation from AACSB International at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in general business and Accounting. Faculty excel in teaching and research, publishing in top-level journals, and serving on the editorial boards of various journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Marketing, and others. Our entrepreneurship program features one of the oldest business plan competitions in the country and receives strong support from the regional entrepreneurial community.
