Dear doctoral students and colleagues,
We would like to invite you to join the paper development workshop (PDW) for junior scholars organized by Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship on May 11 as part of the pre-conference program for the 2017 CCSBE conference in Quebec City. The aim of the PDW is to provide participants with developmental feedback on their current research projects on entrepreneurship and small businesses in order to help these new scholars advance in the field. Furthermore, we hope that the papers coming out from this PDW will eventually be published in JSBE or other journals.
Agenda:
• 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Panel discussions with JSBE editors and invited senior scholars on how to get published. This session is in English.
• 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm: Breakout sessions in which each participant will receive feedback from a senior scholar and another participant. This session is in two language groups (English and French) according to participants' submissions.
Submission instruction:
Each applicant can submit only one of the following two types:
• Full research papers (8,000-12,000 words)
• Paper idea (2,000-3,000 words in length and include a theoretical framework, propositions,
and proposed research design).
All submissions in either English or French should be emailed to JSBE editor-in-chief, Prof. Mai Thai, at mai.thai@hec.ca by April 1, 2017. Participants will be notified about the acceptance of their submissions no later than April 10, 2017. They will need to confirm their participation in the PDW by April 20, 2017 upon which they will be assigned a manuscript to review.
Each participant at the 2017 CCSBE conference will have to register/pay the fees online. Please visit the conference website: www.fsa.ulaval.ca/ccsbe2017
We thank you for your considerations and look forward to your participation.
Best regards,
Mai Thai
