Call for Applications for Visiting Positions in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Department of Management, Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech
Department of Management, Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech invites applications for one or two visiting (open rank) positions in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. Teaching requirements are negotiable, but a normal expectation will be 3-4 courses over two semesters, mostly in the undergraduate entrepreneurship program. Potential courses include Cornerstones of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Developing Entrepreneurial Ventures, Managing Technology Commercialization, and Social Entrepreneurship. This is a non-tenure track, academic year position. In Fall 2017, we anticipate to recruit for at least two open-rank tenured/tenure-track positions in entrepreneurship and/or innovation management.
Candidates should have (1) Ph.D. in Business Administration or a closely related field (ABD candidates in the final stages of completing a dissertation will also be considered), (2) demonstrated effectiveness in the delivery of business and/or entrepreneurship instruction, (3) excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The visiting professorship will begin in August 2017 through May 2018, and the candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program in entrepreneurship and/or innovation management during their appointment at Virginia Tech.
The position will be located on the main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, which is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Appalachian Trail. Blacksburg also has high quality primary and secondary schools (K-12) as well as a relatively low cost of living.
