2007 ENTREPRENEURSHIP DIVISION JUNIOR FACULTY CONSORTIUM

    ANNOUNCEMENT AND APPLICATION INFORMATION

The Entrepreneurship Division is sponsoring a Junior Faculty Consortium as part of the Professional Development Workshops at the Annual Academy of Management Meetings in Philadelphia.  The Junior Faculty Consortium will take place on the afternoon of Friday, August 3, 2007 at Wharton (followed by dinner at the nearby White Dog Cafe) and the morning of Sunday, August 5, 2007 at one of the conference hotels.  Participants will be able to attend other PDW sessions on Saturday.

This program is specifically designed for junior faculty members (Assistant Professors) in the Entrepreneurship Division who are half way to tenure.  The purpose of the consortium is to provide the knowledge you will need as you prepare for the tenure process, as well as the opportunity to meet other entrepreneurship faculty members.  Sessions on Friday will cover topics such as the tenure dossier, the psychology of the process, career management, alternatives to tenure, and post-tenure:  what changes and what doesn't.  On Sunday, we will meet with editors from the leading journals in the field to gain insights about crafting scholarly articles and publishing in top scholarly journals.

Faculty Fellows for the 2007 Consortium include:
    • Raffi Amit, Wharton School
    • Nancy Carter, Vice-President, Research, Catalyst
    • Per Davidsson, Queensland Institute of Technology
    • Rita Gunther McGrath, Columbia Business School
    • Tricia McDougall, Indiana University
    • Mark Rice, Babson College
    • Maria Rotundo, University of Toronto
William B. Gartner and Becky Reuber will chair the 2007 JFC.  The Consortium will be limited to 25 participants to allow lots of time for interaction and qualified participants will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.

To apply, please send the three items described below by email attachments to both Bill Gartner (gartner@clemson.edu) and Becky Reuber (reuber@rotman.utoronto.ca).  Each item should be in a separate Word document.

    Send to:

    Bill Gartner, Clemson University (gartner@clemson.edu)
Becky Reuber, University of Toronto (reuber@rotman.utoronto.ca)
