At your school, when a student team develops a presentation (e.g. a business plan, feasibility study, etc.) on a tech transfer idea, presents it publicly, and there is a commercial "nibble", what do the students get out of the resulting deal? The IP is still owned by the University (typically via the tech transfer office), but the students' work has made the idea saleable. Having a sense of what others have seen (or better yet, a policy on this) would be welcome. Thanks all. Feel free to reply to me on-list or off-list. My email is katzja@slu.edu.
