This is to invite applications for a tenure-track position, at the Assistant or Associate level, in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Worcester State University.
Worcester State University is a vibrant public university located in the residential west side of Worcester, Massachusetts, the second largest city in New England and home to 38,000 college students at more than a dozen colleges and universities. Situated on a compact 58-acre campus, the University offers 50 undergraduate and graduate academic programs to more than 6,400 students annually.
Worcester is close to Boston and Amherst, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and Hartford, Connecticut. The business major is the largest at the university, with about 800 students. Undergraduate class sizes are 10-32 students.
Worcester State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position with a primary emphasis in business strategy and secondary interest in entrepreneurship, small business management, and/or innovation to engage in teaching, research, and service. Candidates must also have a proven record in teaching excellence and demonstrate an ability, interest, and willingness to publish in refereed academic business conferences and journals.
This position will teach 4 undergraduate courses (2 or 3 preparations) each semester, as follows:
· Business Policy & Strategy
· Introduction to Management and/or Organizational Behavior
· Electives, to include courses in Entrepreneurship
· Other related courses as department needs may warrant
Additional teaching in the graduate program is available but not required.
This position will be responsible for running WSU's annual business plan competition. The contest is currently run in conjunction with an Entrepreneurship elective course.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or DBA in business strategy or entrepreneurship from an accredited school (AACSB-accreditation preferred), and private or public non-academic work experience. ABD will be considered, but degree must be completed by August 2017.
