The Florida State University College of Business seeks a collaborative, strategic and scholarly academic leader to serve as chair of the
Department of Management. The chair will lead a talented team of faculty in the areas of OB/HR and Strategic Management and will
provide oversight to the department's undergraduate and graduate programs.
The chair works closely with the dean and the executive leadership of the college and is responsible for all administrative, budgetary,
curricular and engagement activities of the department. This individual plays a key role in connecting the department's faculty,
programs and students to partners at the university, the industry and the broader academic community. The final candidate must
have outstanding administrative and leadership skills, and have experience with budgeting, strategic planning, fundraising and
mentoring of junior faculty.

chair of the Department of Management include:
· Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Management (OB/HR or Strategic Management) or a closely-related field
· A strong record of research productivity, teaching excellence and significant service accomplishments commensurate with the
expectations for tenure and appointment at the rank of professor
· Prior administrative experience and a record of leadership accomplishments in higher education, including the successful
mentoring of junior faculty
· Familiarity with and commitment to continuous improvement as outlined in the AACSB accreditation standards
· An ability to lead the engagement activities of the department
· A record of advancing diversity in higher education
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
