Entrepreneurship Week at Stanford: Feb 24-Mar 3
Stanford is honored to be the site of the National Kickoff of EntrepreneurshipWeek USA, February 24 - March 3. Join campus-wide festivities at Stanford throughout the week to network with students, venture capitalists (VCs), and others; hear thought leaders; and share stimulating ideas. Most events are free and open to the public. Here are a few highlights. Find the complete agenda and details at http://eweek.stanford.edu.
Students: Put a team together for the global Innovation Challenge, a weeklong, Apprentice-style competition culminating in a presentation showcase on Saturday, March 3; prizes will be awarded for Most Money Generated, Most Social Value, Most Creative, and Biggest Flop; winners will also receive international recognition. Contact us for details.
Each day of Entrepreneurship Week will feature a different focus area, such as technology, the environment, human health and international. Events will include:
- Opening ceremonies and the launch party for the national program; global unveiling of the Innovation Challenge task
- Presentations by prestigious speakers such as President Hennessy, Thomas Friedman, Steve Jurvetson, Guy Kawasaki, Carl Schramm and many others
- Roundtable discussions with leaders like Brook Byers of Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers (KPCB)
- Mixers and receptions for VCs, students and entrepreneurs
- VC and student "speed dating" allowing students to pitch their business ideas and receive feedback
- A startup job fair
- The Innovation Challenge Showcase of entertaining presentations by competing student teams
In addition, Stanford and its student participants will be heavily featured in a full-length documentary being filmed during EntrepreneurshipWeek USA, which will be televised nationally in the U.S. and distributed in at least ten other countries.

The Stanford Technology Ventures Program, and the Business Association of Stanford Engineering Students (BASES) proudly present the winter Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders (ETL) Seminars. This series is generously sponsored by the venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ). All lectures take place on Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30 pm Pacific. They are free and open to the public.

All lectures will be held in Skilling Auditorium, with the exception of the Feb. 28 panel discussion, which will be held at the William R. Hewlett Teaching Center, Room 200.
Mayfield Fellows Program Recruitment
The Mayfield Fellows Program (MFP) is a prestigious, nine-month work/study program for exceptional students. Generously sponsored by Mayfield Fund, the program combines an intense sequence of courses on the management of technology ventures; a paid summer internship at a start-up company; and ongoing mentoring and networking activities. All juniors, seniors, and co-terminal masters students are eligible to apply. Twelve students are selected each year, who then become Mayfield Fellows for life. Applications are due by February 1, and the program runs from April to December.
STVP Winter Quarter Classes
STVP Mission
The Stanford Technology Ventures Program is dedicated to accelerating high-technology entrepreneurship education and creating scholarly research on technology-based firms. STVP believes that engineers and scientists need entrepreneurial skills to be successful at all levels within an organization. The program prepares students for leadership positions in industry, academics, and society. In addition, STVP disseminates research and teaching knowledge throughout the world. STVP is located within the Stanford University School of Engineering and is hosted by the Department of Management Science and Engineering.
