    Summer Intensive PhD

    June 18th - 22nd or
    August 13th - 17th

    Given the increased demand from students interested in becoming entrepreneurs, business schools around the world are searching for research faculty to teach entrepreneurship courses. However, few universities have the expertise to train PhD students to become entrepreneurship faculty. To overcome this problem, JumpStart Inc. is offering a summer intensive PhD seminar in entrepreneurship, led by Scott Shane.

    The seminar will cover the major theoretical and methodological issues in the field. The seminar, previously offered on four occasions, has attracted participants from a variety of universities, including <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Columbia</st1:city></st1:place>, INSEAD, MIT, Northwestern, Stanford and Wharton.

    The cost is $1200, exclusive of room and board. However, the Kauffman Foundation has generously agreed to pay the tuition for 25 participants from <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">U.S.</st1:country-region></st1:place> universities for each session.

    Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, but evaluation will be completed by March 1, 2007 (we will limit the seminar to 30 participants in each session). To apply, please go to www.entrepreneurphd.com

    We will again be offering two sessions of the one week intensive PhD
    seminar in entrepreneurship in 2008. The sessions will take place June
    23-27, 2008 and August 4-8, 2008.

    The Kauffman Foundation has agreed once again to pay for the tuition of
