    Lecturer - Entry Level Instructor Assistant - Business

    The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley is
    generating an applicant pool of low level temporary assistant instructors to
    support lead instructors with courses taught in our business school programs
    should an opening arise. The pool will remain in place for one year.
    Positions may range from 5% to 17% time, and applications are typically
    reviewed for summer course needs in April, fall course needs in May, and in
    November for spring course needs.

    General Duties:
    The position duties are similar to those of a Graduate Student Instructor.
    • Attend Lecturers
    • Lead discussion sections
    • Prepare for class
    • Hold office hours
    • Assigned grading duties
    • Proctor exams
    • Perform individual/group tutoring
    • Maintain/submit student grades
    • Occasionally attend class someplace other than UCB

    Basic qualifications:
    The minimum qualification to be an applicant is a Bachelor Degree or
    equivalent in a core business discipline by start date.

    Salary:
    Salary for all positions will be competitive and commensurate with
    qualifications. In accordance with the current Unit-18 lecturer salary scale
    and its provisions, the starting 100% full-time annual gross salary rate is
    currently $75,088.

    Preferred qualifications:
    Higher education teaching experience and advanced degree by start date are
    preferred. Strong preference will be given to Haas alumni and UC Berkeley
    graduates of a similar program , specifically those who have taken the
    class, or a similar class, we are looking to hire an assistant for. Prior
    GSI experience for a Haas course or similar also preferred.
