Stetson University's School of Business Administration seeks applicants and nominations for a full-time, 9-month faculty appointment in Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates may be considered for either a tenure-track or non-tenure-track position. The individual will be located at Stetson's DeLand, Florida campus.
Qualifications:
The University seeks candidates who meet one of the following profiles. All candidates must demonstrate the ability to create, develop, and expand programs in family enterprise and entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset that focuses on building high quality programs in family enterprise and/or entrepreneurship, an appreciation for global business education and international partnerships, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple constituencies with diverse backgrounds. Evidence of professional involvement sufficient to be qualified as Scholarly Academic or Scholarly Professional with minimal publications in the near future under the AACSB guidelines is preferred.
Profile 1: Assistant or Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise
For a tenure-track position, candidates will have earned a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) business, management, entrepreneurship or a related field from an AACSB-accredited program by August 2017. Experienced Assistant and Associate Professor candidates are expected to have demonstrated excellent teaching performance and an established record of publishing in academic journals. Entry-level Assistant Professor candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals. The teaching load is three (3) courses per semester.
Profile 2: Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise
For a non-tenure-track position, candidates should have earned at least a Master degree (doctorate preferred) in business, management, entrepreneurship or a related field extensive high-level experience in entrepreneurship or in an entrepreneurial family business. Contracts are multi-year and renewable. This candidate must possess a proven track record consulting or working directly with entrepreneurial ventures or family enterprises and demonstrate potential for effective and engaging teaching activity. The teaching load is four (4) courses per semester.
Responsibilities:
The teaching load included courses at the undergraduate level in the areas of entrepreneurship, family enterprise, and general management. Additional responsibilities include undergraduate advising; university, college, and departmental committee service; and collaborative work with the entrepreneurial community across the Stetson campuses. Potential exists for teaching a graduate level course. Engagement in multidisciplinary collaborations with other faculty is anticipated.
Candidates should demonstrate a passion for the highest quality of teaching, combined with the ability to produce rigorous peer-reviewed academic scholarship. Salary: Salary is competitive.
