Social networks is a field of study that focuses on social relations among a set of actors-people, teams, and organizations-rather than focusing exclusively on the attributes of the actors. Network researchers have developed a set of distinctive theoretical perspectives and methodological techniques for collecting data, statistical analysis, and visual representation.
Those wishing an introduction to social networks analysis, or wishing to expand their understanding and receive direct feedback from experienced network scholars on a research project, should make plans to attend one of the following PDWs at this year's AOM conference.
- Presented by the LINKS Center for Social Network Analysis at the University of Kentucky.
- Sponsored by the Organization and Management Theory Division (OMT).
