You may have recently received from ENTREP an announcement regarding a new book written by Mr. Ochtel.  It is important to correct the implication that this publication is in any way endorsed by the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management.  It is not nor has Mr. Ochtell been given the authorization to use, or make reference to, the Division or the Academy in the promotion of his book.

Here is a message from Ron Mitchell, our Division Chair.

Hi Colleagues:

You may have just received an email from a new ENT Division member who is somewhat unfamiliar with our process regarding endorsements.  In this email he has said:

"Ronald Mitchell, Entrepreneurship Division Chair and Professor of Entrepreneurship at Texas Tech University, has provided me with this opportunity to introduce you to a new book which focuses on entrepreneurs and start-up companies."

While it is true that I provided the information necessary for Mr. Robert Ochtel to join the ENT Division and thereby obtain access to the ListServe; the wording of the announcement might be construed to be a soft endorsement.

This is not the case, since it is the express policy of the Division, NOT to endorse particular works.  I have not read the work, nor do I have any knowledge of its contents.

Please put this inadvertent potential misunderstanding down to the learning curve, and proceed as if my name had not been used in this context.
