Dear Colleagues:
We are delighted to invite your undergraduate students to submit an intent to compete form for the annual Venture Adventure Business Plan competition at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Venture Adventure program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to present their ideas and plans for realistic new ventures to a panel of judges made up of entrepreneurs and investors. Teams receive valuable feedback from the judging panel that offers them insight into "real world" entrepreneurial challenges and allows them to focus on sharpening their business planning and presentation skills. Further, students hear about the work of others nationwide and discover different ways of planning and presenting their ideas. This year's participants report that the judges' feedback was "priceless" and as beneficial as professional consulting.
We invite currently enrolled undergraduate students to submit an 'intent to compete' form by March 5, 2007, which can be found at the Colorado State University website listed below. The Venture Adventure coordinators will notify teams of their standing by March 9, 2007. All information regarding the Venture Adventure program can be found on the Colorado State College of Business website at:
http://www.biz.colostate.edu/ecenter/programs/ventureadventure/VentureAdventre06.htm
In addition to the great prizes awarded for those competitors who succeed into the top five places, Venture Adventure provides a constructive feedback session with the judges, great networking opportunities, and an overall phenomenal experience. Additionally, students enjoy the chance to hear business plans from schools across the nation and world. Students from Syracuse University have said that they enjoyed "the people, the environment, the enthusiasm, and the focus on learning."
Please visit our website and have your undergraduate students send in their intent to compete form by March 5, 2007. If you have any questions, please contact Alyssa Westfall, the Venture Adventure coordinator or Erica Valdez, the Program Manager at ecenter@colostate.edu.
