    POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER POSITION IN STRATEGY AND VENTURING (3 years)

    Aalto University School of Science is looking to hire a junior scholar interested in research in strategy and venturing. The post doc position is within the Institute of Strategy and Venturing in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University School of Science (http://tuta.aalto.fi). The group has an internationally renowned group of strategy and entrepreneurship scholars including Marina Biniari, Robin Gustafsson, Koen Heimeriks, Mikko Jääskeläinen, Ilkka Kauranen, Markku Maula, Henri Schildt, Jens Schmidt, and Timo Vuori. The ambitious research orientation and the supportive research environment are shown in publications in the leading journals publishing strategy and entrepreneurship research such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. The research of the department focuses largely on the creation and transformation of technology-based business. The department is located in the main campus of Aalto University and has an international research community consisting of doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and faculty members from many countries. 

    Job description

    The post-doctoral position is intended to allow the chosen researcher to pursue his or her research agenda and to develop personal competencies. We expect the candidate to conduct high quality research related to strategy and/or entrepreneurship and aim to publish in the best international journals. The position is associated with a low teaching load, that is, equivalent of one course per year. In addition, the position includes master's thesis supervision and an opportunity to be involved in doctoral training.

    We look for scholars who are completing, or have completed within the past four years, their doctoral studies in a relevant field of study. The applicants should have demonstrated the ability to conduct high quality research related to strategy and/or entrepreneurship and to teach competently. The position requires fluent skills in the English language. Additional language skills are a merit.

    Post-doctoral researchers are required to be in residence for the duration of the appointment. The dates of the employment relationship can be negotiated, starting at earliest in January 2017 and at latest in August 2017. This post-doctoral researcher position is a three-year fixed-term position.

    Salary

    Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide their own salary requests. The position includes employee healthcare.
