The Entrepreneurship Division will sponsor a Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC) as part of the Professional Development Workshops at the Annual Academy of Management Meetings in Philadelphia.  The Junior Faculty Consortium will take place the afternoon of Friday, August 3, 2007 at Wharton and the morning of Sunday, August 5, 2007 at one of the conference hotels.  Participants will be able to attend other PDW sessions on Saturday.

This program is specifically designed for junior faculty members (Assistant Professors) in the Entrepreneurship Division who are half way to tenure.  Senior and mid-career entrepreneurship faculty from a wide variety of universities will facilitate sessions designed to help participants make choices as they prepare for the tenure process.  Sessions will cover topics such as anticipating your tenure dossier, influencing your review letters, managing the psychological aspects of the process, strategies for avoiding or delaying the tenure decision, and looking forward post-tenure:  what changes and what doesn't.

The Consortium will be limited to 25 participants and qualified participants will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. Once accepted to the JFC, participants are required to submit a short biography, which will be distributed to all participants.  In addition, each applicant will be asked to submit a short personal statement and to engage in some light interaction in advance.  The deadline for applications is May 14, 2007.

William B. Gartner and Becky Reuber will chair the 2007 JFC.  All junior ENT division faculty are encouraged to send an expression of interest to Bill (gartner@clemson.edu) or Becky (reuber@rotman.utoronto.ca).  Application materials will be available in mid-March.  We look forward to an exciting and highly informative consortium. Please pass this information on to anyone you know of who might be interested.

If you have questions, please feel free to email Bill or Becky.
