The A. B. Freeman School of Business of Tulane University is seeking applicants for the Earl P. and Ethel B. Koerner Endowed Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship. The holder of the Koerner Chair will play a central role in establishing the Freeman School of Business as a leader in business strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Candidates for this position shall have an exceptional record of scholarly research, teaching, and service.
The Freeman School of Business was established in 1914 and is a founding member of AACSB, the highly regarded accrediting organization for business schools. The Freeman School of Business is one of Tulane University's 10 schools and colleges. Today, the Freeman School is a leading, internationally recognized business school with approximately 3,000 students in programs spanning the globe. Together, Tulane University, the Freeman School, and the vibrant City of New Orleans are laboratories of innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging the start up of new business in a range of sectors, from technology to education, hospitality to energy.
The Earl P. and Ethel B. Koerner Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship was established through the generosity of the Koerner family. John Koerner is a Tulane business school graduate and former president and co-owner of Barq's, Inc. The Koerner Chair holder is expected to strengthen the School's ability to attract and educate business students of high quality and to position the school as a leader in business education and research. The chair holder will provide scholarly leadership for the Albert Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which oversees the Freeman School's programs in entrepreneurship and innovation. Salary, teaching load, and faculty resources will be competitive with similar appointments at leading research universities. Ultimate recruitment for this position is subject to final budgetary approval by the University.
