Department Chair - Management
Description and Duties:
Georgia College & State University J. Whitney Bunting College of Business is seeking a Chair of the Department of Management. The department chair will work collaboratively with the faculty in the department and is responsible for providing administrative leadership for the department and for implementing the department's and college's goals, giving special attention to the objectives for the academic programs of the department. In addition, the department chair must have the capability to cultivate and maintain alumni relations, fundraise, effectively manage course scheduling, budgets and personnel, contribute to AACSB accreditation, and perform other department functions. The department chair position is a 12-month appointment in which the department chair is expected to teach three courses during the academic years (fall and spring) and one course during the summer, either at the undergraduate or graduate level, maintain a scholarly agenda, in addition to performing duties as assigned. The desired start date is July 1, 2017.
Required qualifications:
DBA or Ph.D. is expected in Management or related field from an AACSB accredited institution and possess the experience and documented achievements appropriate for consideration of a tenured appointment at the rank of Full Professor. Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org).
