    Entrepreneurship Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor for the

    School of Economics & Business Administration

    Saint Mary's College of California invites applications for a tenure-track (at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank) faculty member in Entrepreneurship, starting in July 2017.

    Responsibilities 

    The faculty member will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in entrepreneurship with opportunities to teach in other management areas.  Teaching may also include participation in college-wide programs such as Collegiate Seminar and January Term. The successful candidate will join a collegial community that values and supports cutting-edge research and scholarly contributions. Teaching assignments at Saint Mary's College of California include courses on the main campus in Moraga and may include teaching at off-site locations in Silicon Valley, and San Ramon. All Saint Mary's faculty are expected to advise students and to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated, and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian, and liberal arts traditions.

    The School of Economics and Business Administration has a center that is dedicated to the study and practice of entrepreneurship and to supporting our students in starting their own ventures. We have partnerships within the investor community as well as industry, in addition to student organizations such as Net Impact to support our curricular and co-curricular activities in the area of entrepreneurship such as pitch competitions, social enterprise, and mentoring programs.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in entrepreneurship or a closely related field, before commencing this academic appointment. The candidate must demonstrate the ability or potential to conduct and publish high quality research in respected academic journals and to teach, advise, and mentor a culturally and educationally diverse student body, including undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA students; appreciate and respect an inclusive learning/teaching environment and the students, staff, and faculty who comprise it and be willing to become a stakeholder in the Lasallian commitment to that environment; demonstrate commitment and success working in a diverse and multicultural community. Candidates who also have demonstrated research or teaching interests in innovation, responsible leadership, and/or global business are highly encouraged to apply. Candidates with professional business/entrepreneurial experience will be preferred.

    Successful candidates will also need to show how their teaching, research, and prior service reflect the core values and mission of Saint Mary's college.
