  • 1.  2 good resources for entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators

    Posted 08-16-2016 15:07
    Hi all,

Like many of you, at the start of the semester I look for the best resources to use in my classes.

I thought it might be useful to share what I found and perhaps engage in a conversation about the best resources you all found as well. I am looking forward to hearing about any great resources you all found. Feel free to respond individually and I would be happy to share with those who are interested.

I was looking for two things this summer: (1) a book about entrepreneurship and leadership in family businesses, and (2) a book about innovation. I found amazing options for both topics.

On the topic of entrepreneurship and leadership in family businesses, the following book is amazing. Cohen, A. R., & Sharma, P. (2016). Entrepreneurs in every generation: How successful family businesses develop their next leaders. Oakland, CA: Berrrett-Koehler Publishers.

On the topic of innovation, I absolutely loved the following: Johnson, S. (2010). Where good ideas come from: The natural history of innovation. New York: Penguin.

    Best to all, Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I enjoy using online videos produced by Google for Entrepreneurs. It especially helps MBA students without technical backgrounds to understand some of the tech involved in entrepreneurship.

Book Review: Entrepreneurs in Every Generation: How Successful Family Businesses Develop their Next Leaders By Allan R. Cohen and Pramodita Sharma, Berrett-Koehler, 2016 It isn't often that a business book is both practical and fun to read. That is the rare treat of reading this new work by Allan R. Cohen and Pramodita Sharma, which ...
