    The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business is seeking a Chair of the Department of Management. The department chair will work collaboratively with the faculty in the department and is responsible for providing administrative leadership for the department and implement the department's and college's goals, giving special attention to the academic program objectives of the department. The department chair will provide leadership for the department and work collaboratively with the dean to participate in the development of college and university policies.

    In addition, the department chair must have the capability to cultivate and maintain alumni relations, fundraise, effectively manage course scheduling, budgets and personnel, contribute to AACSB accreditation, and perform other department functions. The department chair position is a 12-month appointment in which the department chair is expected to teach three courses during the academic year (fall and spring) and one course during the summer, either at the undergraduate or graduate level and maintain a scholarly agenda, in addition to performing duties as assigned. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with peer institutions. The desired start date is July 1, 2017.


    Applicants must have a DBA or PhD in Management or related field from an AACSB accredited institution and possess the experience and documents achievements appropriate for consideration of a tenured appointment at the rank of Full Professor. Also, applicants must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org(faculty credentials)).

    The Department of Management provides broad-based exposure to all major aspects of contemporary management thought in both the domestic and global arenas. The Department of Management offers both a major and minor in management, and teach in the part-time MBA and the fully online Georgia WebMBA®.
