As the "green business guy" at my school, I get a lot of students coming to me for independent studies, bachelor's essays and master's thesis. I met with a student today that is trying to do his master's thesis around the business he is starting – oyster shell recycling. It's needed, because the state has to import shells to fortify the oyster population in South Carolina. What I'm looking for are some ideas for a master's-level thesis. The student is in the Masters of Environmental Studies/Public Administration. The only business course he has taken is my Ecopreneurship class. He is familiar with the Business Model Canvas and has watched the Steve Blank videos on Udacity. His proposal right now is to just document his startup, but that's not sufficient. He needs to make it a study, with some kind of analysis. He is already in progress with starting – has some equipment, land and customers. His website is: http://www.whitegoldshellco.org/
Any and all suggestions are welcome. I have a few ideas, but I'm guessing that there are many more, better ideas.
Thanks,
Dave
