| Women entrepreneurs are a powerful force in the US economy. However, despite the fact that women-owned businesses comprise 33% of the 28 million US firms, women still face challenges in obtaining early stage growth capital, especially equity. This panel will explore the theories and data that researchers use to study women's access to early stage equity financing and findings that have been generated to date. The goal of this panel is to bring together a set of researchers, each of whom has knowledge in a specific area of equity financing, so that we can collectively explore the landscape of women's access to early stage financing and offer suggestions for future research. |
