The Robinson College of Business seeks applications and nominations for a tenure track faculty position in the area of entrepreneurship. The rank is open, but it is anticipated that the position will be filled at the assistant professor level. This position is an exceptional opportunity in entrepreneurship due to a combination of unique and attractive resources. The Department of Managerial Sciences is home to the internationally-renown H. J. Russell International Center for Entrepreneurship as well as the Robinson College Society of Entrepreneurs, an existing group of successful entrepreneurs from the Atlanta area who pay membership fees to participate in an educational roundtable. There are many outstanding faculty colleagues with interests in entrepreneurship and strategy in the Department of Managerial Sciences as well as in other units of the College, the University, and neighboring universities in the Atlanta area. The city of Atlanta and the university provide an excellent setting for someone with interests in entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will begin employment in Fall 2007.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in a relevant field, the potential or demonstrated capability to publish research in premier management journals, and a commitment to high quality instruction. The position includes teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the College’s academic programs.
With an enrollment of approximately 7,000 students, Georgia State’s business school is one of the largest in the country, and strongly supports entrepreneurship as a discipline. The Robinson College is fully accredited by the AACSB. The College expects and supports faculty research leading to publication in top tier journals. Excellence in teaching is highly valued. In each of the last eleven years, our MBA program for working professionals has been ranked among the top ten part-time programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Georgia State has an extensive evening program and has strong ties with the Atlanta business community, many of whom are alumni of the College. The Robinson College has approximately 1,500 master’s students and 100 doctoral students.
Georgia State University is located in the heart of Atlanta. The University operates on a semester calendar. Salary, teaching loads, and other types of support are competitive with other research universities. The position is contingent upon final budget approval by the University.
