I am proud to announce that we will be holding an event-oriented symposium at the upcoming Academy of Management meeting in Anaheim. Entitled, "Events Really Matter: Understanding How and Why Events Impact Organizational Behavior," this symposium features a diverse group of scholars who are exploring events from a variety of perspectives. This includes:
· Adverse Events and Emotional Exhaustion; Timothy J. Vogus and Rangaraj Ramanujam
· Serving Proactively but Not Drained: The Energy Building Function of Positive Interactional Events; Nan Wang, Zhaoli Song, and Jinlong Zhu
· The Role of Displacing Work Events and Entrepreneurial Identity Aspiration; Scott Seibert, Jordan Nielsen, and Maria Kraimer
· The Event Interpretation Process: Understanding Event Screening, Assessment, and Deliberation; Frederick P. Morgeson, Terence R. Mitchell, and Dong Liu
