    Dear Colleagues

We invite you to join us at the upcoming PDW titled 'Indian Diaspora and Venture Creation in Host and Home Countries: A Design Thinking Approach' from 12:30-2:30 pm on Saturday, 6 Aug 2016 at 205B, Anaheim Convention Center.

In this Integrative PDW, we will draw on topics in International Business (IB), International Human Resource Management (IHRM), and International Entrepreneurship (IE) to develop an understanding of Indian diaspora entrepreneurs in developed countries, and the founding & management of their ventures in host and home countries.

Many individuals of Indian origin in developed countries have established ventures across their host and home countries as transnational entrepreneurs (TEs); others have returned home to found ventures as returnee entrepreneurs (REs). Ventures created by TEs and REs contribute to economic development in both host and home countries, yet, most research related to Indian entrepreneurs in developed countries is centered on migration to developed countries such as the US or UK or small business creation abroad.

In our focus on transnational ventures created by individual entrepreneurs, we will explore new organizational forms beyond MNCs and a new class of international entrepreneur beyond traditional migrant entrepreneurs or international managers/ expatriates in MNCs. Using a combination of presentations by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, and interactive sessions with our cross-disciplinary panel of experts, we will enable participants to develop research questions that address the complexities of operating in contrasting developed and emerging economy institutional settings, and explore opportunities for collaboration at the crossroads of IB, IHRM and IE.
