Seeking feedback on new course in business digitization

    Hello everyone,

As July begins, I am wrapping up teaching a 5-week summer Topics course in entrepreneurship that focused on how digitization is affecting business.

This was a new class where we discussed how the digitization of assets and business processes is affecting business areas like

    ·         entrepreneurship (like lowering industry entry barriers)

    ·         marketing (like making pricing more transparent)

    ·         management (like removing supply chain management links and managing "gig economy" employees)

    ·         finance (like creating virtual currencies and crowd funding)

My goal in teaching the course was to offer an introductory or "principles"-level course in these topics and issues.  Thus, it was meant to a broadly focused course.  Many of the topics we discussed (like the digitization of the supply chain) could have been an entire course.

Based on student feedback and my own learning during the course, I have updated the syllabus for the next time we offer the course.  If you have taught a course like this (or are interested in doing so), I would welcome your feedback on the topics, readings, etc. in the course.

A Word-version of the syllabus (ENTR 407: Topics) is avaiable on my Personal website .

Thanks in advance for any feedback you provide.  I will be happy to synthesize the feedback and share it with the listserv.

    Best regards,

    Franz Lohrke
