    Dear all,

I study ethnic diasporas and want to empirically explore via a survey whether there are differences between the motivating factors behind 1) starting a company back home and 2) making a non-entrepreneurial investment such as buying stocks back home.

Entrepreneurial Intent seems like a solid DV for the former but I am struggling to find an appropriate construct for non-entrepreneurial investments. The studies I have seen so far use data regarding the actual portfolios of their subjects rather than exploring investment interest.

If anyone can offer any suggestions regarding how I might measure investment interest I will be very grateful.

    Regards,

    Kweku
