Executive Director, Entrepreneur and Innovation Institute
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute supports the development and enhancement of research, courses, and experiential learning on the topics of entrepreneurship, commercialization, technology transfer and innovation. The core mission of the Institute is to support cutting edge research on entrepreneurship and a comprehensive curriculum covering all facets of entrepreneurial studies including topics such as innovation, new venture creation, new venture growth, entrepreneurial management, entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurial marketing, venture capital, family businesses, technology commercialization, deal structures, and private equity. Providing experiential learning opportunities for both students and alumni is another focus area covered by the Institute's offerings and programs.
The Executive Director is/will:
1. Responsible for coordinating and executing the Institute's planning, budget, and operations. The Institute's staff will report to the Executive Director. The Executive Director will work closely with the Academic Director.
2. May teach courses in Entrepreneurship (could be up to 50% and would have a concurrent academic title).
3. Responsible for the Institute's ongoing fund raising collateral and leading the fund raising initiatives with a goal of achieving an endowment of between $15-20 million; also responsible for seeking grant funding and paid programmatic activities.
4. Responsible for collaborating with other entrepreneurship programs on and off campus; attendance at leading conferences and ultimately hosting the same.
5. Responsible for the production of quarterly and yearly reports, periodic public relations efforts and alumni outreach
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant advanced degree is required, such as MBA or JD.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled professional with 10 or more years of work experience in both the business and academics.
